Frequently Asked Questions

How does vacuum drying reduce drying time?

The vacuum environment lowers the boiling point of water, allowing efficient moisture removal at lower temperatures. Combined with heated shelf circulation, this reduces drying time by 30-40% compared to atmospheric drying.

Can the vacuum tray dryer handle heat-sensitive products?

Yes. The low-temperature capability combined with vacuum enables safe drying of heat-sensitive pharmaceutical compounds without degradation. The system preserves product stability and potency.

What safety features are included?

The dryer includes an FLP control panel, rupture-disc provision, vacuum gauge, sample port and a view glass. The N2 purging line and dedicated safety features during manual discharge give additional operator protection.

What sizes and operating range are available?

Five models: Lab VTD through VTD-30, VTD-60, VTD-120 and VTD-200, with 4 to 14 heated shelves and 2 to 150 kg of trays per batch. Vacuum is adjustable to 650 mmHg and shelf heating from 30 to 100 C, so the same machine covers gentle solvent removal and low-temperature vaporisation.

Vacuum Tray Dryer, ordinary Tray Dryer or Fluid Bed Dryer?

Choose a Vacuum Tray Dryer when the active is genuinely heat- or oxygen-sensitive, when an organic solvent must be recovered rather than vented, or when the residual-solvent limit is tight. A hot-air Tray Dryer or Fluid Bed Dryer is faster and cheaper for routine water-wet granules that tolerate 60-80 C. See our guides comparing the drying routes.

What are the product-contact parts made of?

All product-contact parts are SS 316; non-contact parts are SS 304. The heating shelves are a positive-pressure, no-leakage design so the heating medium cannot reach the product even if a shelf is damaged.
